Quick Write: Respond to multicultural story about blue bonnets and Texas. Sacrifice for the greater good. Students will write about an instance where they had to sacrifice something for the greater good. Students will then take their quick writes and exchange them and look critically for passive voice. All passive voice sentences will then be converted to active voice sentences.

3-15-11 Imagine You @ WSU. Student will be attending three different college lectures from professors from Washington State University. They will take Cornell notes and attend three different seminars about financial aid, admissions and a student panel.

Active and Passive Voice in writing. Students will actively participate in a game to determine active and passive voice. This should help them in determining which writing technique is appropriate in formal writing.
