Weekly Target: Goals setting, reading strategies and PSAT info.

Happy New Year!!!!!

New Years Resolutions: Goal setting and the breaking of bad habits.

1. Be realistic and set goals that are achievable. Winning the lottery, is probably not realistic.

2. Describe your resolution in specific terms. Instead of saying, "I do not want to be lazy." Instead opt for "I want to get more exercise or I want to watch less television."

3. Break large goals into smaller goals. Example: Commit to losing weight by agreeing to join a gym and attend regularly.

4. Find alternatives to a behavior you want to change and make this part of your resolutions plan. So you want to improve your math grade, what are some realistic ways to improve your math grade. Stay once a week, study with a friend, ask questions in class.

5. Above all, aim for things that are truly important to you, not things that you ought to do or someone else expects of you.
